The first freeshells.ch administrative board meeting was held. Plans for improving freeshells services were discussed. It was decided to modify the site policy, banning unattended background processes.October 8, 2006, Listed on ducktape.net website
Freeshells is now listed on the very popular freeshell provider list. This has drastically increased the number of new registrations.June 1, 2006, FreeShells.ch is now live
The site is now in production. IPv6 connectivity has also been integrated to allow access to the next generation Internet, IPv6.
May 1, 2006, Beta testing begins
With the setup and development mostly complete, the site is now publically available in beta form. FreeShells.ch is not actively marketing or allowing search engine access, but after a successful trial period, the site will change to production status.
March 2006, Development begins on FreeShells.ch
After a few unused Sun Ultra boxes had recently been decommissioned and/or donated, the Freeshells idea was born. NetBSD was chosen as the operating system, and development began.
